Moulin à vent d'Eaucourt
rue du 8 Mai 1945
Have you ever heard of a mill guiding boats? Very, very strange, such a mill.... well, it exists! At Eaucourt-sur-Somme, not far from the Baie de Somme, in fact! It was called the 'moulin Guidon' because boats in the Baie used it to find their way. It also ground wheat, of course, operated by its miller! You can find out all about that when you visit...
About this equipment
Entirely renovated 17th-century windmill, the "Moulin Guidon" was so named because, thanks to its red sails, it was used as a landmark for boats coming into the Baie de Somme. Located on the hills of Eaucourt-sur-Somme, dominates the valley.
