In the Carolingian time, Saint Riquier was an important Benedictine place. There is still a beautiful Abbey from this epoch where the biggest music festival of Northern France takes place in July every year.

The Saint Riquier Abbey is an archetypal of different periods of the gothic. The most amazing is the treasury room and its walls’paintings still in a very good state. |

Open from April 1st to October 31st , from 10 to 12 am and from 2 to 6 pm. (except during the music festival in July and during religious ceremonies) |
> The Abbey Museum

The Abbey shelters a museum on the rural life and craftsmen in Picardy from the past such as locksmith, blacksmith, carpenter, chair-bottomer, etc… In the park two barns have been built with traditional material. Temporary exhibitions take place in the museum along the year. |

2010 Events
> Classical Music Festival

In the beautiful abbey of St Riquier classical music concerts take place every year in July. |

Dates 2010 : From July 8th to July 21st. |
> "Jazz sur l'herbe" (jazz on grass) in the Abbey park.

This is the yearly get together of the jazz lovers. Everyone is invited to have a pique-nique on the grass. |

Telling walk in the city : old stones, history and nature. During this walk, storyteller Jean-Marie François recalled the conversion of Saint-Riquier, King Dagobert, the legends of different famous heros of Saint-Riquier
