Explore the Poppy Country

Discover or rediscover the different aspects of the Poppy Country thanks to an audio-guide that can be downloaded free from the Internet.

The Poppy Country has recently joined forces with the media company Vox Inzebox to create an audio-guide that can be downloaded free from the Internet. It allows visitors (and also local residents) to discover or rediscover the different aspects of the region's heritage.

The guide covers 4 themes :

· The town of Albert : the town and the Great War, the Basilica, the town's industrial history and particularly its aeronautical activites
· Nature and an exploration of the Somme Valley : how human activities interact with nature, the flora and fauna, the history of the Somme Valley and more …
· The History of the Great War and particularly the Battle of the Somme as it was fought around Albert
· Our rural heritage : the springs known as "Les Sources de l'Authie", historic crafts, fine country houses, local "Picard" sports …
