Belvédère des Grandes Aiguilles

The Somme valley, between Belloy-sur-Somme and Dreuil-les-Amiens is home to a rare diversity of landscapes - large reed beds, meadows, peat marshes and little lakes. When they are only a little overgrown, the marshes provide a habitat for an extraordinary range of flora and fauna. This wild-looking site nevertheless has an explanatory panel describing the rich plant and wildlife of these lakes where peat was dug in the 19th century.
