Camp César d'Erondelle

ERONDELLE

Why come?

Onglets

You will like
The Roman camp at Erondelle in one of the oldest fortified Gallic villages (known as oppidums), the most spectacular in Europe.
Listed as an historical monument, this natural site is home to some emblematic species, such as the Yellow Bunting which perches in the tree tops and sings its heart out in spring.
There are steps to the top of the ramparts with a great view of the valley. Take your time and enjoy looking at the scenery from special viewpoints provided by the Somme Departmental Council.
As you come down the other side you may see some Jacob sheep which make a useful contribution to the ecological management of the area. Please don't feed them anything as they have enough to eat with the vegetation on-site.
