Listed as a historic monument, the Château de Canaples is instantly recognizable.
Behind the large black wrought-iron gate, its white neo-renaissance silhouette rises from the heart of a 5-hectare English park. This Belle Époque residence was designed in 1898 by architect Bienaimé for a Beauval family who made their fortune in phosphate mining. The château is built of Savonnières stone, which was brought in from Lorraine by rail.
Neglected for several decades, in 2011 the current owners found the grounds overgrown with hazelnut, maple, ash, elder and nettle trees, and the roof in need of repair.

Now open to visitors in season, the owners invite you to discover the landscaped park dating back to the early 20th century. Designated a "remarkable wooded area", it's a real invitation to contemplate the many species of evergreen and deciduous trees!
We recommend a visit to the Art Nouveau-inspired winter garden, where you'll be amazed by the mosaics, tiles and stained-glass windows.

Self-guided tour of the exteriors (with audio-guide via smartphone app) and the east wing, including the winter garden.
