Château de Querrieu

Cesar undoubtedly took the route from Amiens to the “pays des Nerviens” and passed through the village...
In 853 Charles le Chauve had manors built to protect the area from Norman invaders, and thus the first Château de Querrieu came to be… In 1636, Corbie was laid siege to by other Spanish forces; they put Querrieu to the sword, including the château that had only just been rebuilt… The château changed face as the world embraced romanticism! During the First World War, the château was occupied by the British Fourth Army under the orders of General RAWLINSON. On 1 July 1916, King Georges V visited Querrieu with his general staff and Field Marshal HAIG.
