Citadelle de Doullens

The citadel of Doullens is the oldest fortified place in France, built even before the birth of Vauban. It was used for five centuries as a fortress and then as a prison. Today, the cultural project of Somme Patrimoine aims to share the history of the citadel with as many people as possible, but also to raise awareness of the preservation and conservation of built heritage.
