Its existence is very old (12th century). In 1475 the church was completely burnt down by order of King Louis XI so that the town would not be handed over to the English. The present monument dates back to its consecration on 23rd November 1500. Elegant in appearance with checkerboard walls, alternating cut flint and stone, composed of 2 identical naves, 1 massive tower supported by buttresses and a spire roof which was replaced in 1786 by a pyramidal roof. It suffered some vandalism, notably for the furniture during the revolution: burnt paintings and hunting, melted bells... In 1845 a rectangular brick building was added to the building to give access to the bell tower.
