Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain de Picardie Hauts-de-France

The Fonds Régional d'Art Contemporain (Frac) Picardie, created in 1983 and based in Amiens, is the only Frac to have built a collection around contemporary drawing, one of the most important in France and Europe. Today, it includes more than 1,300 works by 250 artists, showing contemporary drawing in its many expressions,
among them are emblematic figures of the French and international art scene: Pierrette Bloch, Jean-Michel Alberola, Giuseppe Penone, William Kentridge, Sol Lewitt and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

On the strength of this exceptional contemporary heritage, it is a committed player with many structures and communities to promote encounters between all audiences and contemporary creation, by inventing new forms of awareness of current creation.

Under the aegis of its new director Pascal Neveux, the Frac is embarking on a pilot cultural project, which intends to revisit all of the Frac's missions for the coming years. To think and write an artistic and cultural project today is above all to "make society" and to apprehend the societal challenges that cultural institutions face today.
