The 'larris' (limestone upland) of Hangest-sur-Somme and Condé-Folie is located on the chalky banks of the Middle Somme Valley and overlooks the natural setting formed by the Hangest and Bourdon marshes. It is one of the largest 'larris' in the Somme department and the Picardy chalk plateau. Its size and superb views of the Somme marshlands mean that it is of particular environmental interest. What's more, its plant life is especially rich, with 17 plant species of national importance growing here, including a cluster of Sisymbrium Supinum, a plant that is protected through Europe.
