Montagne de Frise

Like its neighbour, the Montagne d'Eclusier-Vaux, the Montagne de Frise is one of the last "larris" (calcicolous lawns) of the Haute Somme. The Conservatoire d'espaces naturels de Picardie has set up a plan to restore the site via sheep and goat grazing in order to contain its afforestation. In its management of the natural site, it then took into consideration the historical character of the site, the scene of the First World War. Located at the front line, the Montagne de Frise keeps the traces of the trenches of the time.
