The remains of Ham castle became a listed historical monument in 1965. On 19th March 1917 the fortress was dynamited by German troops. Today all that remains are some picturesque ruins.
The old church was too far away from where fishermen lived and worked. It was therefore decided to rebuild it near the place where fishing boats docked and where the catch was auctioned.
In 853, Charles Le Chauve had manors built to protect the region from Norman invaders - the first Château of Querrieu was among them. It was destroyed, rebuilt and altered over the centuries. In 1916 it housed the British General Staff during the visit of King George V.
