You will like
The peat extraction activity from the 12th century until between the wars is at the origin of these ponds
It is a natural area of 40 hectares in a meander of the Avre river in Moreuil which benefits from a Biotope Protection Order since July 16, 1991, it is also retained as SIC/pSIC (Peat bogs and Marshes of the Avre), within the framework of the European network Natura 2000
Throughout the walk you will come across many explanatory tables set up by the Conservatoire d'Espaces Naturels de Picardie. The Marais de Génonville, also called "Marais de la Grande Anse" has kept a wild but preserved character. It is home to a great diversity of environments and several animal and plant species of high heritage value. A discovery trail invites you to explore this marsh, passing from islet to islet on small wooden bridges.
