At Beaumont-Hamel, the memorial provides a moving and realistic view of the battles, thanks to an admirably well-preserved network of trenches. The 39-hectare site was inaugurated in 1925. Discover the monument to the 29th Division, to which the 1st Newfoundland Regiment belonged, the Caribou Mound, insignia of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, and the original battlefield to understand the trench system. An interpretation center completes the visit.
