The river Somme, the spinal column of its eponymous department, gently flows through a lush valley that encourages outdoor activities like walking and cycling. Follow this 120 kilometre river through beautiful countryside, which includes chalkbanks and a patchwork of ponds and farmland, right to the Somme Bay, where the river joins the Channel.
The coastal area is a truely magical place. Untamed and teeming with wildlife, it is one of the least built-up coastlines of France.
